Bubinga is an extremely dense hardwood that resonates beautifully and produces a rich low end sounds with a clear and cutting attack. Hendrix Drums’ 5mm thin shells give the drums a remarkable amount of sensitivity, widens their tuning ranges, and increases resonance. The reinforcement rings help focus the overtones and provide the thin shell with the strength it needs. Each drum is equipped with the S-Hoop on the top and bottom. S-Hoops bring the best aspects of flanged hoops and die-cast hoops together. Bubinga has recently been listed as a protected wood species, so drum kits made from Bubigna are becoming very rare. Hendrix Drums has taken the necessary steps to ensure that all of their Bubinga is legally harvested and registered so that they are able to continue offering Bubinga drum kits for years to come.
