Return Policy

We want customers to feel confident ordering from Drummer's Journey. This return policy explains what can be returned, the condition items must be in, and how the return process works.

Return Window

Most eligible items may be returned within 7 days of delivery or pickup.

Any item returned with missing parts, damage, heavy wear, or signs of use beyond normal inspection may be subject to a partial refund or return denial. All returns are subject to a 20% restocking fee.

To begin a return, customers should contact us within the return window so we can review the order and provide next steps.

Condition Requirements

Returned items must be in new, unused condition unless otherwise approved.

Items should be returned with original packaging, included parts, manuals, cases, tags, and any accessories that came with the item when applicable.

Non-Returnable or Restricted Items

For hygiene, wear, or special-order reasons, some items may not be eligible for return once opened, installed, used, or specially ordered.

This may include items such as:

  • Drum heads once opened or installed
  • Sticks, mallets, brushes, and other consumable playing accessories once used
  • Special-order items
  • Clearance or final sale items
  • Electronic items if opened, registered, or used beyond initial inspection
  • Microphones
  • Ear plugs
  • Any item marked non-returnable at the time of sale

Drums, Cymbals, and Hardware

Drums, cymbals, hardware, and other core instrument items may be returned only if they are in new, unused condition and show no damage from setup, assembly, tuning, stick marks, key marks, pedal marks, mounting wear, tape or other use.

Because drum shop inventory often includes large, fragile, or finish-sensitive items, returns may be reviewed more carefully for cosmetic wear, missing packaging, and signs of installation or performance use.

Special Orders

Special-order items, custom orders, and items brought in specifically at the customer's request may be subject to approval.

If an item is ordered from a manufacturer or distributor specifically for a customer, different return rules may apply.

Return Shipping

If a return is approved, the customer is responsible for return shipping costs unless the return is due to shipping damage, wrong item sent, or defective item.

Original shipping charges are refundable only in approved cases.

Large drum sets, oversized hardware packs, and multi-box shipments may require special return arrangements and may involve additional return shipping charges.

Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items

If an item arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, customers should contact us within 3 days of delivery.

Please include your order number, a brief description of the issue, and clear photos of the product, the original shipping box, and all packaging materials. To process shipping damage claims, photos of the original shipping box and all packaging materials are required.

Refunds

Once a return is received and inspected, approved refunds are typically issued within 3 business days to the original payment method.

Refunds may be adjusted if the returned item is not in the expected condition or is missing included components.

Exchanges

Exchanges are available with case-by-case approval.

If a customer wants a different item, we may ask them to complete a return and place a new order instead.

In-Store and Online Orders

Returns for online orders and in-store purchases may follow the same policy unless otherwise stated at the time of sale.

If different rules apply to in-store purchases, local pickup orders, or shipped orders, those differences should be communicated at the time of purchase.
